My late mother Greta Phylis Mellor Jones gave birth in 1951‚ Father unknown. Adoption took place from a Catholic Children’s Home where my mother worked. We only found out about the birth after my mother died. The baby was a secret only known to close members of the family. The baby was registered as Anita Olive Mellor Jones. On investigation we were able to obtain a birth certificate and talking to local social services they knew about the adoption but unable to give any information due to data protection.
