Ashley John Butler was born in Swansea‚ Wales. His birth cert records his mother as Rose Mary Butler. Rose Mary lived in Dublin‚ Ireland. No name was given for his father. However‚ family oral memory says Paddy (Patrick) Mason (from Ballinteer‚ Co. Dublin) was the father. The Mason and Butler families knew each other well at the time. My understanding is that Ashley tried to make contact with Paddy’s siblings in Ballinteer sometime in the 1960s or 1970s. There has been no contact since.
