My grandmother had a son when she was a teenager, and was forced to give him up for adoption. I learned this after my grandmother died, and no one still living remembers many details. Based on what my mother and I know, we believe he was born in 1961. We believe he may have been born and adoption either in Roanoke, or in the Waynesboro/Staunton area. But we believe other locations are possible. My grandmother’s maiden name was Shirley Landes.
