My mother name was Doris Elizabeth Carter,we are from Richmond, Va. The adoption took place in Richmond, VA. My mother got married and my stepfather adopted me and gave me his last name. My name was Crystal Verkell Carter, then in the 3rd grade it was changed to Crystal Verkell Lester which is my stepdads last name (Tinkey Lester III). he is the only father I knew,. I don’t remember my biological father at all. My stepdad died in 1978 and my mother just passed in 11/2016. I was never told who my biological father was but desperately want to know.
