In the Wash DC area soon after WWII. My Dad had been in the Engineers at Ft Belvoir and contracted polio. The Army put my Dad into Walter Reed Hospital and my Mom was staying nearby. My parents lost the baby my Mom had been pregnant with. So my Mom was only 21 yo and her husband comes down with severe polio and her baby daughter dies from a birth defect complication when only several weeks old. Shortly thereafter another soldier raped my mom and I believe she carried the baby to term and then gave it up for adoption. I have not many other details.. My mom’s first name was Eleanor.
