JGolmen
I am 57 years old and live in Norway. I was adopted from Saigon-Vietnam in October 1968. My Norwegian name‚ which I have used ever since I came to Norway‚ is Jørn Ådne Golmen. I know nothing about my roots in Vietnam. All traces were lost in the war. All I know is that I was found in the ruins somewhere in the area in/around Saigon (HCMC)- Bien Hoa around April 1968. I was an infant then‚ and I was taken to an orphanage‚ where I spent the time until I and 69 other children were flown to Norway in the fall of 1968. I was critically ill‚ and napalmed from the bombing. It was only by luck that I survived‚ and quite by chance that I became one of the chosen children who joined the journey out of war-torn Vietnam at the time. I was given the Vietnamese name Anh Tai Nguyen by the nuns at the orphanage. This is written in my first passport that accompanied me on my journey out of Vietnam.I eventually recovered‚ and have grown up and lived my life in Norway. I have never returned to my country of birth‚ nor have I ever actively tried to find out anything about my roots. But in recent years I have thought a lot about my unknown past. My children are also curious about their father's background‚ so I took a DNA test in February 2025. The hope is that there is someone out there who can provide some answers regarding my biological roots.
