I was born in Echuca, Victoria. My mother’s name when I was born was Elizabeth Jane Petersen, she was 18 yrs old and originally from Palmerston North in New Zealand. My understanding is that she had come to Australia to have the baby, although I believe she stayed afterwards. The adoption records listed my father as Guy Shackel, who was English and approx 24 yrs old. I would love any information about either of my birth parents. It would solve a life-time of wondering.
