I was in the second semester of my first year in college when I became pregnant with my daughter. I begged my mother to let me keep her but (wisely‚ probably) my mother felt that I should give her up for adoption so I could go back to school and finish my education and so my child could have a better life than she would have with an unwed mother. My mother sent me to a home for unwed mothers in Abilene‚ Texas‚ in October of 1967 and the baby was born in January of 1968. I joined Ancestry.com as soon as I knew about it in order to try to find my daughter but I never found anything there. It would mean the world to me to find her since I deeply love her and I am now 77 years old. I don't need or expect anything from her. I just want to know how she is doing and whether she has had a good life. I would like to meet her and/or any children she might have had. My DNA is already in both Family Tree DNA and Ancestry.com.
