Sometime in the 80’s, somewhere in Texas, my birth mother decided to give me to my adoptive parents. Her name was Mariana/Marina. She had 3 other girls, two of them were about 10 years older and the third one was about 1 year older. She worked in their home as a maid/cleaning lady. She did not live at the house her partner at the time (birth father) would drop her off and pick her up, sometime with the girls. When I was born she had me with her for about 6 months before she took me to the Rodriguez family David and Socorro. Only 34 years past and my adoptive sister confessed to me that I was adopted. She said I have three sisters and maybe a father. I was devastated to know I didn’t belong where I grew up, but I was even more devastated when I found out my biological family hasn’t looked for me. All I want is to put names and faces to the shadows. I love my family as they do me although they lied. I lived in El Paso for ten years of my life, but I know that when I was taken to the Rodriguez family we moved to San Antonio TX for a while. There a friend of the family fixed my adoption papers to seem like a was naturally born to them. My God parents the Morgan’s, Maria Elena and Juan, knew my biological family well. Mariana/Marina was from Chihuahua MX and the man somewhere from the USA. The girls might have stayed with the maternal grandmother. Other than her name I don’t have much.
