My name is Amy Catherine Bankhead. I am about to turn 30 yrs old. I was born on November 30‚ 1987 in the city of Dallas‚ Texas at Parkland hospital. My adoption was a CLOSED ADOPTION through the AGAPE ADOPTION AGENCY. I was adopted by a single mother named Cathy Ann Bankhead when i was 18 days old. The only thing that i know about my birth parents is that my mother was Caucasian/white‚ she had me when she was 16 years old. Now she would be around the age of 46-47 years old . i got to see a picture of her school id once but her name and school name were cut out. I know she had what i think was short natural blond hair and that she was Catholic and raped by a black man. I was conceived by rape. She left me a few things of hers. A silver chain with a small-medium size silver crucifix pendant‚ rosary beads‚ and a few pictures of herself when she was a baby. I know that the memory of the past can be re-traumatizing‚ and the thought of seeing your attacker in each time u look at your child can be a reason as well. I need to be clear when i say that I’m not angry that i was put up for adoption.But i have been asking myself n god the same question my whole life‚ " Why didn’t she want me?"
