My son was born in the military hospital at Carswell AFB in Fort Worth, Texas. His adoption was handled thru Catholic Charities in Fort Worth, Texas. I only saw my son once in the hospital before he was picked up by Catholic Charities. Since I was only 16 and couldn’t afford to be on my own, I thought he would have a better life with someone else. My family included 4 brothers and 3 sisters, all being under the age of 17, all living at home with my mom and dad.
