I am an adoptee searching for my birthparents and any half siblings I may have now. I was born in Houston, TX on 9/22/1968. My birth mother resided at the Crittendon Home for unwed mothers until my birth. I was placed for adoption through Depelchin Children’s Home and was adopted in December of 1968. My birth mother had lived with her foster mother at the time she became pregnant and I understand they moved around quite a bit. She had long strawberry blonde hair, blue eyes, and was fair complected. She was 16-17 at the time. My birth father lived with his parents and worked for a bank during the time they were dating. Either his father or grandfather was a preacher at one of the local churches. The name my birth mother gave me was Jacqueline Lee. I grew up an only child and would love to have the opportunity of locating either birth parent, siblings, extended family, etc. My adoptive father (I was daddy’s girl) just passed away this past March. It made me realize just how short life is ...and that there is a part of me that would, once again (as this is not my first time to facilitate a search), look for any relatives I may have. At the time of my first search (about 10 years ago), I went directly through the adoption agency and obtained the deidentified records. There had been no contact from either birth parent, and because my birth mother did not have a social security card/number at the time, made it very difficult to conduct a search through a private investigator without it costing a fortune. If anyone out there has any information that would be helpful to me with my search, or if you believe we may be related, I would love to hear from you. Thank you so much !!
