Travis was the youngest child of 8 to David Monroe Barnett & Carrie E Barrow (1879-1954) in Comal County TX. We were told that he was given in adoption after his birth father, David, died during the Great Depression. He remained in contact with one brother, Melvin (Jones?) throughout the years, but perhaps lost contact with his other 6 siblings and their families. Velma M. England (1908 - ?), Hershell G. Barnett (1904-?), Willie E. Barnett (1905 -?), Charles Rose "Dude" Barnett (1908 -1971), Sarah E L Barnett (1915 - ?), Melvin E. Barnett (Jones) (1919 - ?). Travis was adopted by Roy F. Gerrells & Maude J. Gerrells when he was a young child and raised in San Antonio, Tx. He died April 16, 1983 in South Padre, TX.
