Like most adoptees in Texas‚ I have been bound by state law to conceal and not have revealed any identifying information such as last names‚ of my birth siblings. The social worker I have sent letters to/from was able to find my birth mother’s obituary and she passed away in 2008 from multiple cancers. My half siblings first names are Joshua‚ one or so years younger than me‚ Shelby and Bradley. I do not think I share the same father as any of them but do share the same mother I am not certain about the paternity. I have some photos that Shelby shared via the social worker. I would love to know my birth mother’s full name so that I can try to get a copy of my original birth certificate and see what she named me. My adoptive parents are sensitive to my questioning so I have not asked them what my birth name was prior to the 6 months mark‚ after they had taken me into their home‚ when I was 6 months old‚ when my adoption was final and they had my birth certificate changed. I would love to meet or talk to my birth siblings one day.
