I was born in Houston TX in a hospital that has since burned down (or so I was told). But I believe it was the Jefferson Davis Hospital at 1101 Elder Street, which actually closed in 1988. The adoption went through an agency that likewise burned down (or so I was told), and no records exist. My adoptive parents, last name of Lakes, are averse to discussing the issue, but I really want to know who my birth parents were - primarily for health reasons. I have no ill will towards my birth parents because I did have an unbelievably privileged upbringing. But part of me is missing - I just want to know you.
