My name is Dana Phillips Junker and I am searching for a sibling that was adopted in a private adoption in Abilene Texas in 1961. My mother was JoAnn Sowders who was 19 years old who delivered a child at Hendricks Hospital in Abilene on March 10-11 in 1961. The child’s father was Bill Vickers. I am not sure if he was aware of her pregnancy. The arrangements for the private adoption was made by Judge Allen Glenn of Abilene and my mother was told the baby was going to a family that belonged to the Church of Christ and would be raised in a loving Christian home. She was never allowed to see or hold the child and does not know if it was a boy or girl. The Dr that delivered the baby was Dr. Sol Estes of Abilene who no longer practiced as an OB agreed to deliver the baby as a favor to Judge Glenn. Hopefully these details will help me find my sibling.
