My name is Elizabeth Wanette Slavin. I was born in Ft. Worth, TX. at the Osteopathic Hospital. I was adopted by Joe F. Slavin and Wandel L. Barber Slavin who had three children Jan, Bruce, and Tammy. We lived on Layton St. My daddy owned a service station there. My dads family was Elizabeth Owenes, her mother, my aunt Gladys was my daddy’s sister, and he had a brother named Buster Slavin. Elizabeth’s brother was Edgar Gilbert. Her son’s name was Jim Hyde and then there was Jamie. I was told a judge by the name of Eva Barnes, who was our neighbor, handled my adoption. I had several birth certificates, not sure why, all of which state race as white however, I am very bi-racial. My adoptive family is all white. My daddy also had other children he adopted in a prior marriage to a lady named Doris whose names are Donnie Jean and Bud Slavin. I would love any help in finding my relatives. Both of my adoptive parents have passed and I have a wonderful Son and new Grandson that I would love to offer some medical and family history with.
