I was born on July 25‚ 1985‚ in Plainview‚ Texas‚ at the Plainview Hospital in Hale County. My biological mother was about 17 years old at the time‚ and my biological father was around 19‚ though he did not acknowledge the birth. When my mother was approximately five months pregnant‚ she made the decision—largely due to pressure from her parents—to place me for adoption. After my birth‚ I remained in the hospital for about a week because I was sick. I then spent roughly one week in a foster home before being placed with my adoptive parents. My adoption was handled through the Texas Department of State Health and Human Services‚ under Director Fred Seal. The adoption was finalized in March of 1986 through the Plainview Courthouse‚ with Judge Tidwell presiding.
