Im not sure this is the right place to be searching, hopefully if not, you will be able to point me in the right direction. Travis Lee Hatton born 15 Feb 1934 was put in the care of Merit LeRoy Kilgore and Nova Elizabeth Miller Kilgore after the passing of his biological mother Johnnie Jones Miller Hatton in 1934. Barney Otto Hatton put his infant son in the care of the Kilgore couple because he was unable to care for the infant child after his wife passed away. The Kilgore family moved away and took Travis Lee Hatton with them. It appears that an adoption might have taken place on or before 1951. All birth records of Travis Lee Hatton are with the Kilgore surname. Travis Lee (Hatton) Kilgore is my uncle, he and my father Gene W. Hatten were reunited as adults, I remember visiting Travis and his wife Nancy Wattanell Rickman Kilgore in the late 1990’s. Travis Lee Hatton Kilgore’s biological parents are Barney Otto Hatton and Johnnie Jones Morris, if a legal adoption took place, his adopted parents are Merit LeRoy Kilgore and Nova Elizabeth Miller. I am searching for a copy of the original birth certificate for my private family history collection (genealogy). Thank you, Larry Gene Hatten
