My half sister was given up at birth through a lawyer in Memphis, TN. An ad was placed in the Commerical Appeal. My mom told the family the baby had passed at birth due to a congenital heart defect. The adoptive parents supposedly stayed in Memphis for several months after her birth before taking her back to Long Island, NY with them. My mom remembers they were very nice and wealthy people.
