I am sure that I was adopted by my birth mother’s uncle (int. JCN). My goal is to contact my birth mother and thank her for putting what she thought was best for me ahead of any personal or moral bias, as well as gain information for medical purposes that my children or I may need. I was born at the Baptist Hospital in Memphis, TN. My birth mother would know that my adopted father was an Electrician Foreman for a large utility provider in the Tenn/Ala region of the US. She would also know that my parents already had a 10 yr. old son they had also adopted and that the birth mother had problems having children of her own. The only contact I can recall having with anyone immediately related to her was a visit to my adopted parents home in Alabama by her sister and her husband in the 70’s, before I knew my true past. The two names that stick in my brain are Norma Francis and Netty Belle, and the last name Namore. I believe that at least some of the family lived near Birmingham, Al. at the time. And were Crimson Tide fans. I have no agenda to my search other than gaining information that will allow me to search my family history with facts. Honestly, I would love to meet my birth mother and any siblings I might be related to. Since both of my adopted parents are deceased and I have no contact with my adopted brother, it would be a strange but nice gift to be able to discover a parent or family at least willing to share my family history with me. I have no desire to open any wounds or cause any action that would be better left without my contact. I seek no financial gain. I have attempted to get this information through the State of Tennessee. They did confirm that I was adopted and a brief description of my birth mother and father’s current employment status. She was a student and he was a merchant marine, I think.. The law would not allow any more information. Finally, I want to express my desire to meet my birth family before it’s too late. At best my birth mother is now near 80 yrs. old, so time is running out.
