My Birth Mother is called Lesley Ann Davis‚ and was 16 when she gave birth at the Mission of Hope‚ Birdhurst Lodge‚ South Croydon‚ Surrey. I weighed 7lb‚ 9oz. I was given the name Sarah Elizabeth Davis by my birth Mother before I was adopted. The home gave a little information about my birth Mother who was an apprentice hairdresser at the time‚ liked athletics and swimming and had dark auburn hair with blue/grey eyes. My Father was 18 years old and an Engineer in the merchant Navy and did not know of my existence. Lesley’s Father was a Fireman. 25th March 1970 was the day Lesley left the home‚ collected by her Father and I was taken by my new Adopted Parents for adoption. Miss F. A. Mark ham was the adoption secretary. My adopted parents have sadly both passed away but can confirm their names Alan and Eileen Burchell.
