I am searching for family on behalf of my mum. She was born Shelagh Ann Cook and was adopted on the 10th February 1964 at the age of 7 months. She had completed some research back in 2001 when she lived in the UK and found the following Her birth mothers name - Gwendoline May Cook (Maiden name Peters)‚ born in 1926 and a possible half sister - Jayne M Cook‚ born in 1949 in Oxford. She married Peter Byrne and they had a daughter Anna Marie born in 1977 in Oxford. Mum had a stroke 3 years ago and is no longer able to continue this search herself. I would love to give her some closure but also find information (and family members) for myself and my sister. Mum’s birth father was apparently of African descent and we have no knowledge of him.
