My mum died from cancer and during her final stages she confided in me that she had had a daughter as a young woman out of wedlock long before she married my dad. She was living in Hackney but was sent to a home in surrey and after her daughters birth the baby was taken from her and she was told the baby would be adopted by a married couple. Out of respect for my dad and my siblings (there are 3) I did not pursue this but dad has died and my siblings attitude has changed so I have commenced a search
