I am looking for any information about the birth mother of my adopted sister‚ Julie. I understand that her mum had her at a young age and that she lived in a ‘mother and baby’ unit in Sheffield. My parents adopted her within 6 months of her being born. They were from the Wombwell area of Barnsley. They had already adopted a baby previously – a girl they named Alison. My niece is keen to find any connections to her mum (my sister). Sadly Julie passed away 4 years ago and we do not know whether she had ever looked up her birth family.
