My birth son who was born on May 8, 1982 at Roper Hospital in Charleston, SC. The following day of his birth was Mothers Day. I was 16 years old when he was born. His adoption was private and handled by Ed Cook who stopped practicing not long after handling my adoption. I asked this atty. for any information to help me find him and was told that he thought the parents who adopted him were in the service. My name was Lisa Mims at his birth. He was a beautiful baby boy with a full head of black hair. My Mother held him also when he was born. My Mother died in 1984 and was very ill when he was born. She was very ill from the time I was age 7. I wanted to keep him but knew I could not care for him as I truly could not care for myself. I just need to know that he is safe and began searching for him when he turned 16. I have a 17 year old daughter now and she knows about him and would love to know him also.
