Both of my parents are now deceased, so my concern about potentially hurting their feelings is no longer relevant. I was born at Roper Hospital in Charleston, SC, October 15, 1969, delivered by Dr. Rivers. Dr. Berry was then chosen as my pediatrician even at the hospital. The woman who handled my adoption worked for a local lawyer, presumably Clyde Turner, Meeting Street. She is deceased, but her last name was Codespoti. My mother told me my biological mother was in her late twenties, already had three children, and could not care for another. I don’t know if this is accurate. As far as I know, my parents took me home from the hospital within 3 days of my birth. My birth certificate reads Paula Daniell Fogle, but my adoptive parents chose that name. If my biological mother had named me, it was not recorded officially or made known to me. I have recently been diagnosed with a life-threatening condition, and would really like to have a medical history if nothing else. I appreciate any help you can give. Thank you.
