Female born on Shaw Air Force base tactical hospital in Sumter SC‚ my non-identifying info through Dept of Social Services in Columbia SC states my birth mother had gotten pregnant by a man on base‚ info also stated she had 2 other girls maybe 2 & 3 yrs old when I was born‚ also she was on base while her husband was in Vietnam & he came home early from Vietnam & found her pregnant by another man‚ he made her make a choice "him or the baby (me)"‚ was told she left me at the hospital where I was placed in a foster home until my adoption at 6 weeks old‚ I was adopted by Charles and Betty Jackson of Orangeburg SC through DSS in Columbia SC‚ my adoptive mom told me I wasn’t named so possibly foster mom called me Elizabeth or Betsy‚ I just don’t know!! I started looking for birth mom in 1992-93 even went to court in Orangeburg SC to have my original birth certificate/file opened since I was having medical issues‚ however a DSS Representative showed up to the hearing and the judge (who had my original birth certificate right there in front of her) was not allowed by that State Representative’s testimony to open my file!! I don’t know if my birth mother doesn’t want me to find her or maybe she has a new husband and/or other children who don’t know about me or what happened and she just doesn’t want to rock the boat in her life!! I would REALLY love to know or see or meet her‚ I’ve wondered ALL of my life‚ my parents never kept being adopted from me‚ I’ve had THE MOST AMAZING parents any person could ask for‚ I have NO regrets or feel ANY I’ll will or hatred towards my birth mother‚ I feel she has to be the world’s strongest woman to give me up so that I could have a better happier life!! Her husband at that time in 1967 did not want me to be a part of their family bc I wasn’t his biological child‚ this I completely understand!! Times are way different now and I just really want to know who my birth mother is and if I have any half-sisters/brother!! PLEASE help me find ANYONE who may know of me PLEASE!!
