We are uncertain if an adoption took place in SC (although birth did). It would have been a private adoption and it is possible the adoptee would have been provided misinformation. We were informed the baby (our sibling‚ believed to have been a female) was stillborn but recently discovered information that leads us to believe our sibling could have been placed for adoption. The baby would be Caucasian and the maternal (and possibly 1/2 to full sibling) DNA is public on both Ancestry and 23and me.
