I was born on 7/23/1961 in Greenville General Hospital, Greenville, SC. I was a premature baby weighting 4lbs and 9 ounces. My parents were married and had a daughter who was two years older than myself. My mother had medical problems and could not keep me. According to the non-identifying records that I have from SC Department of Social Services, she didn’t ask to see or hold me. Although married, my father, who worked in construction had left the home to find work. I was adopted in 1967, my adopted father wife passed away prior to the adoption being final, he adopted me as a single parent. We lived in Florence, SC.
