I am trying to help a good friend find her birth mother. My friends name is Harriett (Hope) Hydrick Schmieler. She was born in Columbia, SC on December 17, 1969. We have located her father via 23andme however he was in college and it was the late sixties and not sure of who her mother is or refuses to give up any information. Only information given to Hope-Adopted by Kenneth and Marie (Porter) Hydrick four days later. I was told by my father that my biological mother was 17 years old. (Most likely born around 1952) Maternal haplogroup is J1c3c. I loaded on 23andme all the relatives that Hope Hydrick Schmieler and Bill Porter have in common and then deleted the from Hopes relatives in hopes of getting leads to her mother side. Relatives in common between Harriett Hope Hydrick Schmieler and Bill Porter. I believe Grace Washburn listed below is the only closely 23andme DNA relative on her maternal side if I am reading it correctly.
