My grandmother was born to a poor family and was “adopted” or given to a family when she was young. Maybe 3‚4‚5‚6 to a family that brought her to America. The family was Dobias. Jan and Rozalie. I don’t know the birth family. This was approx 1906. Her name when brought to America was Mary or Marie Dobias. She came from trojanovich Slovakia. She died giving birth to my mom. We know nothing about her since her father committed suicide when mom was 3 yrs old. Mom is 87 and I really want to find some info for her before she dies.
