Hello, I am looking for the birth parents of my grandmother, Marie-Claire. She was adopted by Elizabeth (Betty) & Harry Thomas Smith Her birthday was May 9 1936, she grew up in toronto although her mother and father both immigrated here from the UK. I believe she was adopted here in canada. I have DNA matches on Ancestry.ca to several people with the last name Hamilton, Donovan, and Scanlan. I believe that they may be connected somehow? My grandmother married a man named John Anthony Mcardle, who is also adopted. I believe his aunt Ellen Mcardle was his actual biological mother and he was raised by his aunt and uncle, so his life is not as much a mystery as my grandmother.
