I was born on 1st November 1953 in Glasgow and was adopted 6 weeks later from St.Gerard’s home. My natural mother’s name is Margaret Catherine McGinty. She lived in Maryhill at the time. I met her once but she slammed the doors on me and wouldn’t tell me who my father was. She did hint that he was an English soldier who may have been based at barracks in Glasgow at the time. She also mentioned Derbyshire or Staffordshire but I don’t know if any of this is true.
