My parents have recently opened up to me about my adoption and revealed that I am of Bidayuh heritage. I am a 26 (going onto 27) year old female‚ residing in Australia. I’ve grown up in a Western culture my whole life‚ with a mix of all Asian cultures involved. Of natural curiosity‚ I’d like to see if anyone knows of or can help me meet me biological siblings or family. I was born in early June of 1996‚ Sarawak likely born in Miri hospital/adopted in Miri hospital. My birth name "Mary" was given to me by the doctor who delivered me however has been change since. I’ve tried to join DNA and ancestry websites however they have no matches for the region of where I am searching for. I thought Reddit or Facebook groups might be the most useful help to me at this stage. I was apparently the 9th child of my biological family and due to financial circumstances‚ I had to be put up for adoption. I believe in this day and time‚ there must be some curiosity for some of my older siblings to my whereabouts and vice versa as for myself. I am currently in a very loving and blessed family‚ married and have a stable career. For this‚ I am grateful to both my biological family for giving me the gift of life‚ and to my adoptive parents to giving me the opportunity to live a abundant life. I’m not sure how else I can express myself but I’d love to know more about the culture and one day visit and blend within my cultural people!
