I have found my (deceased) birth mother and her family. They have welcomed me with open arms. I have been unable to find my birth father. The birth certificate I sent away for when they opened the adoption records listed father unknown. She came from Charlestown/South Kingstown area and married into an Italian family from Centerdale‚ Rhode Island‚ named Calise. She was a widow with 4 teenage children when she became pregnant with me. Her name was Gertrude Stedford Calise and I was born in Cranston in May 1959 and was immediately given up for adoption with Childrens Friend and Service.
