My father was adopted in 1942 his mother was an African American descent she was in Providence and Pawtucket. She had two other children besides my father at that time but my father was the youngest. I know that he was in the John hope settlement house at some point before he was adopted and taken to Westerly Rhode Island where he was raised by his adopted parents his mother’s name was Eva kati Glenn Dandy (smith). I took an ancestry test and found close connections to family names Mcparland‚ Doyle‚ Weiss‚ and possibly Coyle. I believe he may have had a connection to the doyle house which I believe was for unwed mothers. Most of the information he got came from the Rhode Island college orphanage when they had their reunion back in the early 2000s
