ToveKristineVanman
My mother at the time he was born was named Tove Vanman Karp. She had married Jack Karp in Denmark around 1946 or 1947‚ and she came to the United States in 1947. They lived in Philadelphia‚ and he had family in Vineland‚ New Jersey. Erik Karp would have been my half brother. He was born in 1948 or 1949 and shows up in the 1950 census as Erick Karp. I don’t actually know if his father was Jack Karp. My family in Denmark got a letter saying that my mother was in a hospital in South Philadelphia with a newborn infant and destitute. According to an aunt‚ Erik was being fostered and was happy there. There was no way that my mother could have supported and lived with him. He would have been adopted between 1950 and sometime in 1952.
