Hello, I am searching for the birth parents of my grandmother, who recently passed. I was able to get her original birth certificate (new law in Pennsylvania) and the details were: Date of Birth - February 14, 1927 Name given at Birth - Bernice Kelly Parent - Jennie P Kelly Age 28 Prior to this, my dad had the following information: My mother was born on February 14, 1927 in Philadelphia, PA. She was either born at, or brought to, St Vincent’s orphanage in Philadelphia. She was adopted at three years old and took the name Bernice C Anthony. She was told that her birth mother was from Britain. When her adopted mother died, her older sister took custody of her possessions and came across a letter from Britain purportedly from my mother’s birth mother. My mother never saw the letter but was told that the sender was either of the following: Lady Jane Kelly or Lady Jane Corcoran. Supposedly her birth mother was quite young and got pregnant out of wedlock. She was then sent to the states on a "holiday" to have the baby. Further in the story is that the alleged father, Mike Love, followed after learning of the "holiday", and was killed in a car wreck while in New York City. My mother married my dad in Dec 1945 and she took the name Bernice C Jenkins. She died five years ago following the death of my dad.
