I’m searching for my half brother born in May 1967 in Sayre‚PA...his birth mothers name was Shirley Vanderpool and she passed away a few months after his birth...our father Richard Vanderpool and Shirley had another son already and Shirley felt it would be best to let her life long friend adopt the new baby to make things easier on their father...(this is what I have been told by our father and a couple other family members) My brothers name at the time of his birth was either Edgar Eugene/Lugene Or Eugene/Lugene Edgar I’m not positive on the name Eugene or if it was Lugene.. I have searched it every way possible and find nothing... The friend that my brother was handed over to was Margaret(Peggy) Bump(Dobbs) I am not sure which names she went by at that time...but I do know that she had a son from a precious relationship/marriage named Laverne Douglas Jr and they eventually ended up living some place between Florida and New York/New Jersey areas...I also was told that the last time our father seen his baby boy was in 1972 when Margaret/Peggy told our father she was heading to Florida and wasn’t sure if she was ever coming back...I don’t remember him at all but I know that our father loved him just as much as he did me and our older brother....I tried finding him several times before our father passed awayof lung cancer in 2003 but never had any luck in my search...I just want him to know that our father was a great man and when he would talk about his baby boy he would cry and say how much he loved him and how he wished he’d stopped her from taking him to florida...and that if he’d known that was gonna be the last time he saw his baby boy he would not have let her leave with him that day. ...I understand if you don’t want anything to do with me or our family but I do want you to know that you were and Still are loved by all of us...
