My brother was born on April 17, 1967 in the early evening and given up for adoption. He weighed 4 pounds 12 ounces. Our mother, Henrietta Gainer Balling Mergner, was at the Florence Crittendon Home in Erie, PA and I believe he was born in Saint Vincent hospital, also in Erie, PA. He was born 4-6 weeks premature so may have had to stay in the hospital for several days before going home with his adoptive family. Our father, George Frederick Mergner, is not listed on the birth certificate. The adoption was closed and the records sealed. I just found out about having another brother and would love to make contact.
