My daughter was born in Philadelphia at Metropolitan Hospital in Philadelphia and adopted via a private (possibly illegal) adoption in 1967. The adoption was arranged by a local priest and an attorney that my parents knew. I lived in South Jersey and had to go to Philadelphia to give birth‚ then left the hospital with the baby and had to hand her over to the adoptive parents outside the hospital. There are no birth certificates with my name on them during this time‚ and I have never been able to find any documents relating to the adoption.
