"Robert Dale, Male" was allegedly born 13-02-1929 in Scranton PA. area or, more likely, in Philadelphia, PA vicinity. Possibly a Veil Maternity Hospital birth or adoption. There was no birth certificate filed in Pennsylvania. Birth mother may also have been from N.Y. or N.J. area. He was adopted by Joseph and Jennie Lancaster of Dickson City, Pennsylvania shortly after birth. They learned about the child (Veil Maternity Hospital/Agency?) through a friend from Church who was a doctor. Private adoption was handled through a lawyer in Philadelphia, processed/decreed via Lackawanna County Orphans court. Adopted name was Richard Jay Lancaster. Paperwork relating to the adoption was provided to Richard by his adoptive mother upon her death. He destroyed those records without reading them in his grief, and later regretted doing so. Richard died in a car crash in Tampa, Florida on 26-10-1999. With recent changes in Pennsylvania’s adoption record laws, his daughters have registered as descendants of a deceased adoptee seeking family and health-related information, but received notification that no birth information was found.
