My sister was born in the Lancaster area of PA on Jan. 12‚ 1953..we have the birth certificate‚ but no name was given to her. There were 6 of us. The sibling that was given away is between child #2 and #4. All 5 of us have the same dad … but there are 2 different moms… but the missing sister would have the same mom as #1‚#2‚and #4. I am child #5. Child #1 (girl) born in 1950…#2 (boy) 1951…#3 (adopted girl) in 1953..#4 (boy) in 1954…#5 (girl) in 1955…#6 (girl) 1965. Our oldest sister passed away just before Mother’s Day this year (2024) and when we were going through her things‚ we found an envelope that said “baby girl birth certificate”. Most of us had heard the story (in various forms) of a sister who was adopted out‚ but we didn’t have the birth info. We think the reason we found it in my sister’s papers is because her mom (not mine) just passed away right before she did. Dad passed in 2011. Only my mom remains and she is almost 93. As soon as I saw the envelope‚ o knew it was out missing sister. We all hope we find her.
