The adoptee was born at Saint Vincent Hospital in Erie, Pensylvania on October 12, 1967 at 11:55 pm. He weighed 7 pounds and 3 ounces. The birth mother had planned for adoption throughout the pregnancy, but didn’t contact the agency until after the birth. The adoptee was placed in St. Josephs Home for Children on October 16, 1967. He was then placed in the adoptive home on November 16, 1967, and was legally adopted in the Erie County Court on December 3, 1968. The birth parents did not name him, therefore he didn’t have a name until the adoptive parents named him. On July 16, 1997, the adoptive parents - Janice (Cunningham) Gido and George Gido - received a letter from Danelle Stone, BSSW, an adoption coordinator, stating that the attached paper was non - indentifying information about the birth parents. The most information given is about the birth mother. She was about age 17. She had a small build and was only 5’0" and 110 pounds. She had a fair complexion. She had green eyes and brown hair. She graduated from high school and was Roman Catholic. Nationalities included were Italian, German, Hungarian, and French. The birth mother was the middle of five children all born from her parents - she had an older brother, a younger brother, and two younger sisters. The ages ranged from 9 to 19. They were all in good health. The birth mother’s father was in his early 40s and worked as a manager in the manufacuring field, and he had a 9th grade education. The parents of the blood grandfather were alive and well. The birth mother’s mother was also in her early 40s with a 9th grade education. She did not work outside of the home. Her parents were alive and well also. The birth parents had planned to get married but that did not work out. The birth father was not involved in the legal process of termination of parental rights. No contact from the birth mother was ever made.
