I am a mother trying to locate her oldest daughter who was adopted back around 2010-2011. I was in foster care with my daughter the whole time when we were taking away. When I turned 18 and got out of the system I thought I was going to be able to take my daughter with me but I was young and smart and trusted the system. I was set up for failure pretty much. I was only 15 years old when I had my daughter (pregnant at 14) so they basically looked at me as a baby having a baby and didn’t think I would be able to raise her on my own when I got out of foster care so she was adopted by a Mennonite family through Lancaster county children and youth services. It was suppose to be an open adoption so I could stay in my daughters life but that didn’t happen either. The adopted mother would even give me hugs and kisses and tell me she wanted me to stay in my daughters life even after adoption was final. My daughter was 4 years old last time I saw her and she will be 14 on October 12th‚ 2021... I was told that Mennonite rules are a little different and after a child turns a certain age‚ they have the opportunity if they want to stay Mennonite or go English or something like that but I know that the case has been closed for over 10 years now and children and youth services stated to me last time I ever called that it was basically up to me to find my daughter and up to the adopted parents if I can see her or not... So I’m asking for help. I’m pretty sure the adopted mother’s first name is Sharon or Sharol. I think the adopted father’s first name was David POSSIBLY. I also know they live near Lancaster county and they had family members who would shop in Willow Street Pa. Not sure if that’s all accurate now because it’s been over 10 years. I miss my baby more than words can describe. My heart will NEVER be whole again until I find her and hold her in my arms again. I’m now 29 years old (I will be 30 in March) I know I deserve my daughter back in my life. I just need help locating her.
