My dad has requested I research this for him as he was always interested in him growing up. My dads grandpas name is Willard Michael Johnson and he seems to be born in Ohio on September 28th‚ 1918. From whe I've been able to find‚ his birth parents are from Sweden (I suspect they are Emma May Anderson nelso and Claus/ Clous Johnson) and his adopted parents were Alber Crim and Audrey Othello Johnson. According to a 1930 census he was living in McKeesport‚ Pennsylvania with Albert and Audrey Crim and I found him in McKeesport High School yearbook as a senior in 1937. The 1930 census lists Emil Fraas and Ella Fraas as the next door neighbors and on Willards draft registration card he lists Emil Fraas as his 3rd cousin and the person who will always know his address‚ but I suspect he was just his neighbor growing up and not a cousin. Emil Fraas is also Isaac Emanual Fraas and in a 1940 census (also from McKeesport) Willard is listed as a cousin. Also if it helps Willard Johnson was in the army and recieved a purple heart award and was shot in the leg in france near germany in 1945/1944‚ his serial number was 33038827. Any help is very appreciated!!
