I am looking for my birth mother. I was born in downtown Toronto. I believe it was St. Mikes on November 9th 1959. I was told by CSA that my family name was Shaw although I have heard that these letters are false 50% of the time. My mother was around 16 years old and was kept away from the father so it was unlikely that he even was aware of the birth. I was sent to a foster home and adopted by my family (Hewetson) around 3 months later on January 29th in Scarborough Ontario. I had on a very old shabby outfit, was quite gaunt, had not bottle, toys or any information. The circumstances were strange as my adopted parents received a urgent call saying basically "if you want the child come and get him". This was very different from my older adopted sisters situation two years earlier. It was a more formal process and she was well fed, had nice clothes, toys and notes about what she liked and didn’t like. Seems like they may have had an issue at my foster home or more likely an orphanage being shut down is my guess.
