Hello! My name is Catherine Ann (McMaster) Bruce. I was named Karen Downing at birth. I was born at Women’s College Hospital on March 26, 1963. I believe my birth parents were Joan Downing (1943) and John Nurse (spelling of Nurse could be slightly inaccurate). My birth mother had given up her first daughter in 1962, myself in 1963 and another in 1964. I cannot imagine the emotions involved with these years for Joan (& John). All three of us were adopted to separate families. My adoptive (and wonderfully loving) parents were named Jean and Robert McMaster. My birth parents went on to marry a couple of years down the road and gave birth to a son, followed by a daughter named Jennifer. They lived together as a family of 4. They lived in a house on Lake Simcoe near to Keswick. They owned an auto body shop (in Keswick perhaps). I would really like to make contact with my many birth relatives, particularly my birth mother. I am not at all judgemental and only wish to connect. Sadly my adoptive parents have passed away approximately 10 years ago. I really appreciate your help.
