My father's mother died the day after he was born on June 30 1927. His 19 year old father was a Merchant Marine and at sea. My father's maternal grandparents picked him up at the hospital and brought him home. They eventually ended up raising him as their own son. What I'm looking for is a possible adoption record where my great-grandparents adopted my father and changed his name from Forsyth to Reid.
